I spent some time listening to the teachings of Jim Staley. His confusion is that he doesn’t understand that the law of Moses is abolished and rendered obsolete. Hebrews 8:13 says this explicitly. Galatians 5:18 says “if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.” These verses describe the obsolescence of the law Paul describes in his writings, especially Galatians. The book of Hebrews talks extensively about how the law of Moses has been replaced with the law of Christ. It appears he teaches keeping the Sabbath is helpful for followers of Christ but not necessarily a salvation issue. Ok but why would you want to do that, I don’t know. Also note that Jesus affirmed and amplified 9 of the ten commandments (…you have heard it said; but I say). Jesus omits Sabbath law. Because Jesus is our sabbath, Hebrews 4:10. I’m rejoicing over that truth.

God certainly DOES care about and looks at our hearts. Lot of scripture to back that up. Also apostle Paul talked about this issue in multiple epistles. This is legalism. This is confusion about the age we’re in and how God wants us to relate to Him. We are not OT Jews, we are the church of Jesus Christ. We can celebrate easter and christmas and not participate in the pagan parts.

This is very well done. I learned the truth about Christmas and Easter as I began studying the feasts. Man made customs can’t compare to Gods true holidays. We do celebrate Hanukkah and it’s beautiful. I find it really speaks to the struggle of avoiding compromises today.

Jim Staley wants to submit that meat was eaten and sacrificed in the garden. He also submits that God defined food in the garden to include clean animals. God defined food in Genesis 1; herbs and fruits. God further redefined food in Gen 9:3 when he included all living things that move, which includes clean and unclean animals by definition. The clean animals before the ark were for sacrifices, not eating. Animals only began to be eaten after the flood, when God put the fear of humans into the animals (Gen 9:3). Jim Staley imports so much into Genesis 1 - 10 its ridiculous.

Wow ! Happy to see people GET WISDOM & GET UNDERSTANDING. Although we may be living in times of being under the dispensation of God’s grace, these principles being taught here are essential in order to be aware of what is hidden from the natural eye to be seen with the spiritual eye.

Jim Staley says Gen 9:3 can't mean what it clearly says because God doesn't change. Applying God's immutable characteristics (love, faithfulness, mercy, etc) to food laws for mankind is absurd. God can certainly give different food laws to different people at different times without harming his immutable characteristics.

My husband is so angry after watching this video. Jim Staley presents all of these "truths" as facts, when there's a lot of contradictory information and opinions out there. Don't just take his word for it, research it for yourself. His ideas are "theories" not facts. He is leading people away from Christ. Hebrew Roots is divisive and tearing apart families, churches, friendships. My husband is so angry and demands I follow him into this movement. I am so sad.
